At Evinta, we respect your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request the deletion of your data from our systems and what happens when you do.

Your Right to Delete Data

Under various privacy regulations (including GDPR, CCPA, and others), you have the right to request deletion of your personal information. We are committed to honoring these requests promptly and completely.

What Data Can Be Deleted

When you request data deletion, we will remove:

What Data We Retain

How to Request Data Deletion

You have multiple options to delete your data:

Method 1: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the Evinta app
  2. Go to SettingsAccount
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Your account and data will be deleted immediately

This is the fastest method and takes effect immediately.

Method 2: Email Request

Send an email to [privacy@evinta.net] with:

Subject Line: Data Deletion Request

Required Information:

  • Your registered email address
  • Account username (if applicable)
  • Device ID or User ID (found in app settings)
  • Brief statement: “I request deletion of all my personal data from Evinta”

Optional but Helpful:

  • Approximate account creation date
  • Last 4 digits of any linked accounts

We will process your request within 30 days.

Method 3: Web Form

Visit our data deletion request form at: [https://evinta.net/delete-data] (placeholder URL)

Fill out the form with your account details and submit. You will receive a confirmation email.

Method 4: App Store Request

You can also request data deletion through the app store where you downloaded Evinta:

For iOS (Apple App Store):

  • Go to App Store → your profile → Evinta
  • Scroll to “Request Account Deletion”
  • Follow Apple’s instructions

For Android (Google Play):

  • Go to Play Store → Menu → My Apps → Evinta
  • Scroll to “Data safety” → “Request data deletion”
  • Follow Google’s instructions

Verification Process

To protect your privacy and security, we need to verify your identity before deleting data.

Automatic Verification (In-App)

When you delete your account from within the app:

  • You must be logged in
  • Verification is automatic
  • Deletion is immediate

Email Verification

For email requests:

  1. We send a verification link to your registered email
  2. You must click the link within 48 hours
  3. Confirm your deletion request
  4. Deletion is processed within 24-48 hours after confirmation

If You No Longer Have Access

If you cannot access your account or email:

  • Any identifying information you remember
  • Alternative email or phone number
  • Approximate account details

We will work with you to verify your identity through alternative means.

Deletion Timeline

Immediate Deletion (In-App)

  • Local Data: Deleted immediately from your device
  • Cloud Data: Deleted within 24 hours
  • Account Access: Disabled immediately

Email or Web Requests

  • Acknowledgment: Within 3 business days
  • Verification: You must confirm within 48 hours
  • Processing: Completed within 30 days of verification
  • Confirmation: You receive a confirmation email when complete

Backup Systems

  • Active Backups: Purged within 30 days
  • Archived Backups: Purged within 90 days
  • Legal Hold Data: Retained only if legally required

What Happens After Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

Irreversible Process

  • Data cannot be recovered – Make sure to export any data you want to keep before deletion
  • Account cannot be restored – You must create a new account if you want to use the App again
  • Subscriptions continue – Active subscriptions through app stores must be cancelled separately

Immediate Effects

  • You can no longer log in to your account
  • All transaction history is removed
  • All budget information is deleted
  • All reports and insights are erased
  • App notifications stop

Ongoing Obligations

If you have an active subscription:

  • You must cancel separately through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
  • We cannot refund unused subscription time
  • Cancellation prevents future charges but does not automatically delete data

Data Export Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, you can export your data:

How to Export

  1. Open the Evinta app
  2. Go to SettingsData & Privacy
  3. Tap Export My Data
  4. Choose export format (CSV or JSON)
  5. Receive download link via email

What’s Included

Your export contains:

  • All transaction records
  • Budget configurations
  • Spending categories
  • Custom labels and notes
  • Account settings

This ensures you have a copy of your data before permanent deletion.

Special Considerations

Joint or Shared Accounts

If you share device access or account information:

  • Deleting your account affects all users with access
  • Other users cannot recover your data
  • Consider informing other users before deletion

Third-Party Integrations

Data deletion from Evinta does not affect:

  • Your bank accounts or records
  • SMS messages on your device
  • App store purchase history
  • Third-party analytics services (we will delete data we control, but cannot control third-party retention policies)

Complaints and Appeals

If Your Request Is Denied

In rare cases, we may deny a deletion request due to:

  • Legal obligations
  • Ongoing fraud investigation
  • Contractual requirements

You will receive a detailed explanation and can appeal the decision.
